Once there were three hearts that we held dear;

one rescued, one offspring and one just appeared.

Each one unique, they made quite a brood,

and each had their own way of lightening our mood.

Like attention craving rivals they vied for our looks,

and found refuge from each other in crannies and nooks.

But now, due to nature and an uncaring, cruel fate,

the dearest heart stands waiting at God’s golden gate.

With heavy hearts and bitter tears we bid her farewell.

May she rest in heaven, the heart we loved so well.

Rest in Peace Sweet Sugar

At approximately 1 am this morning, our sweet Sugar went to the Bridge. The doctor said that she had been alert shortly before and seemed to be doing better but when they made their hourly check she had slipped away. They said that she didn’t seem to be in any pain but that it must have just been too much for her to take. I know she is happy and pain free now. We love you Sugar and always will.

Sugar Still in the Hospital

Dear kitty friends, please keep up your purring and praying for Sugar. She has not been able to wake up from her anesthesia. My mom and I went to visit her today to see if she could rally her strength but it was not enough. Her doctor performed a blood test while we were there and we discovered that Sugar has severe kidney disease. Because of this she is unable to metabolize the medication in her body thus keeping her asleep. They put her on an IV and are attempting to flush the medicine from her body. Please pray that this works for her. She will have to stay in the hospital until at least Thursday evening but if all goes well she should be alert and able to come home then. Once she comes home we will have to begin giving her sub-q liquids to manage her kidney disease. She had this disease going in to the incident but we just didn’t know till today. In a strange way this attack may have saved her life because left undetected she would have gotten VERY ill before we discovered her disease. She is quite young to have this problem but we are hopeful that her youth may give her an advantage. We know that lots of kitties out there deal with this everyday so we take courage in knowing that it is combatable.

Above was a picture of Sugar in her recovery cage at the hospital.

Below is Sugar on the exam table with Dr. Earick her fabulous vet. You can see her drainage tube in the front, this is to help the large puncture wound to heal with less infection. Notice all the bruising and scabbing over her lungs. She is very lucky that they did not puncture her lungs.

Here you can see the second drainage tube in her back. This puncture went all the way down the length of her shoulders and separated the skin from her body. This is the worst of all the wounds but seems to be doing well.

Thank you all for your support and caring. Sugar is our baby and we need her to come home soon.

Today’s Update

Sugar is currently recovering from surgery to close her puncture wounds. She had not woken up from the anesthesia so she was unable to come home tonight. We are hoping to be able to pick her up tomorrow afternoon. Please keep purring and praying for our sweet girl and thank you for all the love and concern that you have already shown.

Sugar is now stabilized and breathing without the oxygen tent. Her labored breathing has subsided and she has even begun to purr. She has very large puncture wounds on her back and severe bruising on her lungs. The doctors are optimistic and we hope she keeps progressing well. Thanks.

Tuesday Uncle Scott had a surprise waiting on his front porch—these two.

They were hungry and had been eating out of the garbage bag outside. He immediately took them in and fed them and fell in love. Now they have a forever home and even a doggy brother.

Charley is still getting used to their rambunctiousness. They play play play! They were having a good time playing with everything including Meowmy’s purse!

They really make everyone smile! We are so glad that they have become a part of our family.

Busy Busy Busy!

Meowmy has been running around like crazy lately! The month of May is full of celebrations and we are almost finished with them all. First there is Meowmy’s birthday, that was on the ninth. She had a great one. She bragged that it was more like Christmas than a birthday. She got a laptop from her mom & dad and a bike from almost dad, Bob. She doesn’t have a picture of the laptop but here is her new bike.

I suppose it’s nice but its still a little scary for me when she rides close to me.

After that it was Mother’s Day and another birthday to celebrate. And last weekend she was helping Bob celebrate his birthday! He got lots of nice stuff like new clothes and glass figurines and movies and stuff. They celebrated on Saturday by spending the day swimming. Meowmy said it was super fun.

Now Memorial Day is coming up and then June will bring it’s own craziness with it, 2 birthdays and 2 anniversaries. I hope somewhere in all of it that she can still find the time to post for us kitties. Lately we’ve been feeling neglected and need more attention and blogging time. I’ve put her on notice and have been ignoring her steadily and not sleeping inside at night so I think she is getting the message.

A little help please….

Hi! Its me, Scotchy. My brofur Stryder has been hogging the blog lately so today I’m taking over. Ya see, I have a little problem and I was hoping all you kitties or kitty moms out there might be able to help me.

In the past few weeks I have been developing mats in my long floofy fur. They are big and bad and knotted right up to the skin. They are all along my tummy and thighs and my girl can not brush them out. Now whenever someone pets me all they feel are those darn mats and they seem to be growing! Do any of you know how to deal with them? My girl is considering taking me to a groomer but I’m afraid they will try to shave me! Please help, I don’t want to loose all of my beautiful fur for the sake of these silly mats.

This is a picture of me and my brofurs. We was all borned together on April 1st, 2004. Sugar was our momma. We had two other brofurs, but they moved to a farm. The big man named us all after the Lord of the Rings movie characters. The gray guy above me is Frodo. He could be kind of a meany sometimes so we didn't snuggle often. Meowmy was happy to get a picture of it for prosperity. The other fluffy guy is Gandalf. He was my best buddy.
Gandalf, or Gandy as we called him, was a gorgeous mancat in training. He spent a lot of his time with the next door neighbor cat named Lucky. Lucky was a feral cat who found a home but never seemed to give up his love of the wild outdoors. One day Gandy went off catting with Lucky and he never came home. We hope that he found a new place to live where he could be happy and loved.

The same thing happened to Frodo, aka Frodie. Its like once Gandy left Frodie took over the job of Lucky's sidekick. They hung out together like best friends and then again one day, he just never came home. It broke everyone's hearts to loose another beloved kitty.

Soon after Frodie left, I started to spend time with Lucky. This really worried my people. They thought that I would be the next one to go. And I was! I left for two whole weeks! Meowmy was worried sick. When I finally decided to come home I was scooped up and taken to the V-E-T! They said if I got new turd then I wouldn't wander from home anymore. They were right. I love my home and my people. They give me everything I could possibly need and more. But sometimes I sit outside and wait. I wait to see if my brofurs will come back. Meowmy doesn't like it when I stay out like that but she just doesn't understand. I can't give up hope. Maybe one day I will see them again. Til then I'll be waiting.

Thank you all for coming to my 5th birthday party. I had a blast! We wore Meowmy out really good, she has been recovering for the past few days. Ha ha! Mancats don't fool around when it comes to birthdays. lol. She took some pictures during the party so hopefully I can get her to post them sometime soon. But guess what!?! We've got another birthday to celebrate! Tomorrow is Holmie's 16th birthday. Sweet 16! In case you don't remember, Holmie is our almost older brofur that lives with Meowmy's boyfreind Bob. So we will be partying again tomorrow, be sure to stop by and help us celebrate a very special mancat.

Things have been pretty good lately. I've been spending lots of time making biscuits on my girl's healing belly. She says it's ok and it doesn't really hurt any more. I'm glad cause I'm working on a new flavor for my biscuit factory and I need to get some samples out A.S.A.P.! So far I make blueberry, dingleberry, meatloaf and of course cheddar biscuits. It's been so long since you have seen any of us the typist thought it would be a good idea to refresh your memories. We are still as cute as ever, you can plainly see. Lots has been going on here at our house.

Christmas came and went. We really enjoyed ourselves under that tree. Scotchy especially liked to hang out under there but she would constantly test her limits by chewing on all the colorful lights. She would be quickly evicted but she always came back for more. Aunt Josey sent us some lovely presents that involved nip, of course. She really knows how to pick 'em! Sugar tried to bring home her own present for everyone, but she let it go as soon as she got in the house and forgot to make it dead first. We all tried to help get it back under paw but we just couldn't get the job done. We were too busy being shy because Meowmy's Gramma was visiting. The Food Lady finally captured it and let it out the back door. Sugar was quite insulted but she got over it when the Party Mix came out.

New Years was a bit lonely. Meowmy left us alone for the first time after her surgery. We didn't know what to do with ourselves without her here. Lucky for us she hurried home the next morning, unlucky for her it was because she was in pain cause she tried to celebrate a bit too much. She thought she was healed enough to get back to her social life, turns out she really wasn't. It took her way longer to get better than she had ever anticipated. She's only just now strong enough to get back into the swing of things.

Which brings us to Valentine's Day. We sure had a nice one! As reward for being such good nurse kitties the Food Lady got us a great present! We got a CAT TREE!! It's fantastic! It has three levels you can sit on, and you can scratch the whole thing and never get in trouble! Even when you put a BIG hole in it the first week you have it --Scotchy. Plus Meowmy got sprayable nip to put on it to help it smell nice and yummy. We also get prizes in the form of Temptations when you climb all the way up to all the platforms. Scotchy has created a maneuver that allows her to circle the main pole while lying on her side. It's truly an inspired move. Anyways, it stands in the kitchen in front of the huge windows that over look our back porch and the woods behind the house, so you know there is plenty of eye candy. It goes all the way to the ceiling! We also got our very own lazer mouse toy and have created several games the have us climbing up and down that tree. It's the best time we've had in a long time!

Oh, yeah, Meowmy said that she had a nice time on Valentine's Day with Almost Dad, Bob. He made her a seafood dinner and brought her sugar free candies and pretty rose petals. He asked her what she would like such as a teddy bear or knick knack. She asked for a 6 pack of Aquafina raspberry water instead! Weird isn't she? Actually we're quite proud of her because that was a healthy request. She has been working really hard on getting healthy. On Friday she got weighed at the doctor's office and she has lost 82lbs! Woo hoo! Way to go Meowmy! Headbonks for everyone!

We would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you who have been stopping by to continue to show your support. We have missed you all too! Your encouragement has really helped us keep Meowmy's spirits up. We hope to soon be back on a more normal blogging schedule but until then we will still be keeping up with you, our friends.

A Note From Kellykat

I just wanted to thank all the wonderful furry friends and beans who have been leaving me messages of encouragement and support. I feel special everyday that I discover one waiting for me. It means a great deal to know that there are so many fabulous friends that have me in their hearts.

I also have received many Christmas and Get Well cards from you. They are all beautiful and I have surrounded myself with them to remind me that I need to hurry up and get better so I can resume my place in the blogosphere!

While I have been away from the keyboard I have been well taken care of. We do A LOT of this:

Thanks for not forgetting us and I promise that the kitties and I will be back real soon. We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.

good morning furry friends and beans! :)

kellykat came home on Thursday as hoped! and even tho she was a tad bit groggy and slow, she was sooooo happy to see stryder, scotchy and sugar! who isn't always in need of a little kitty therapy anyhoo, right? :)

the first day was a bit rough. it was hard for kellykat to sleep and a challenge to get all the protein drink down. her digestive system wasn't quite in sync, either, if ya know what i mean! :( however, by Friday things were getting a little easier. she has even been taking little walks and it helps her feel better overall! she's still tired quite a bit, but as she is able to get food and supplements down she will gain energy--and she's looking forward to that!

i read all your lovely comments to kellykat over the phone! she giggled and "awwwww"ed and it just warmed her heart to hear from you all. (and Whicky, Angel, Oliver, Gerry & Mum--i DID do the rumbly purrs!!) so again, thank you! there's nothing like knowing people care to help overcome life's challenges and to speed up healing. even when she's tired, there's still a renewed spark in her voice and i know that's a VERY good thing!

oh, and there HAVE been a couple instances of uncontrolled biscuit making on kellykat's tummy! :-O oopsie!! shhhhh, don't tell scotchy i told on her tho. hehe. the second instance kellykat was able to let scotchy lie down for a little bit in just the right spot on her tummy. i think they both rather quite enjoyed it :)

so, that's the latest! kellykat may feel like sitting at the computer sometime soon to chat with you all, or maybe one of the kitties might have a few spare moments from taking care of and watching over their precious Meowmy to say hello! but either way, someone will be back again soon to chit chat and update.

Update on Meowmy!

hello everyone! aunt josey here :)

stryder, scotchy and sugar asked if i would fill in for them to let you know about how their meowmy's doing! they are busy making biscuits on her bed and keeping it warm until she comes home :) they miss her so much but know she is in good hands!

kellykat's surgery went veryvery well yesterday! once the doctors got over some challenges with her IV, everything went smoothly. she was up and walking within hours of leaving the recovery room!

she has been able to keep a good amount of sustenance down and is looking forward to regaining her energy soon :) she is staying at least one more night, as the doctors are still monitoring her kidney function. she is in very little pain and so thankful! she is also extremely grateful that her boy-honey bean and parents have been there to give her strength and encouragement every step of the way!

she also wanted to let you know she is most appreciative of all the purrayers and good thoughts you've been sending her way! they are helping more than you know. THANK YOU!!!

and i have to add one personal note from myself...i have known kellykat IRL for over 20 years and i must express how PROUD i am of her and how COURAGEOUS she has been! she has been very steadfast for several months in preparing herself mentally, physically and spiritually for this change in her life, and i know that with her focused determination, lots of healing laughter and support from family and friends (beans AND furry kritters alike!) she will heal very quickly and be well on her way. i also know that she will be eager to take over the blog reigns soon, but until then i'll be helping out stryder and the crew!

It was 3 short years ago that you became a part of our family. You were such an unexpected gift. The cute little foxy kitty who just showed up out of nowhere. You were persistent and you charmed us all. Now you have a special place in our home and our hearts. You bring us so much joy and happiness. We are so lucky to have been chosen by you little girl! We love you and are grateful to be your people. We look forward to celebrating many, many more special days with you.

We Are So Proud

We are so proud of our Meowmy. She has been working very hard at something for several months now and she is finally close to the finish line. She hasn't wanted us to talk about it because she was afraid it might jinx it but now she says its ok to tell you.

All her life Meowmy has had problems with her weight. She has always been the one to get picked on and made to feel like she was never good enough. No matter how smart, or nice or funny or self sacrificing she is, it is just never good enough to make people forget what she looks like on the outside and just accept her for who she is on the inside. Now we have always loved her for who she is and never cared what she looks like but us cats are far more accepting than most humans out there, right kitties?

She has had to deal with a lot of rejection but she always claimed it made her stronger. But we all know that even so it still hurts a lot inside. She began to think that maybe this is why she has been rejected so much while she's been looking for a new day hunting place too. Not only that but she has begun to have some scary health issues as well because of her weight. That makes us sad cause we want her to be around for a long long time to take care of us and give us scritches and stinky goodness and yes, even shove that darned flashy box thing in our faces too.

Recently her mom and dad bean offered her an opportunity she couldn't turn down. They wanted to use her dad bean's 401K money to pay for her to have gastric bypass surgery. Her mom bean had it done almost 2 years ago and she is looking great and has never felt better. Almost all of her health problems have disappeared and never heard from again. This is what we all want for our Meowmy. So since June of this year she has been actively pursuing this path to healthiness. There have been so many hoops she has had to jump thru to get here but she is finally here. She has a surgery date and time set.

But here is the part that we are especially proud of. For the past several weeks she has been making drastic changes to her diet and eating habits. First it was just cutting down on calories and making healthier choices, and now she is on a special liquid diet to prepare her for the upcoming surgery. Can you imagine a Thanksgiving where you couldn't eat a single bite of all the festive goodies? No turkey, no mashed potatoes, no pumpkin pie? Well she did it! She made it thru with flying colors! She didn't even think about having a bite. We are so proud of her! She is pawsome. She told us that we could help to support her by eating her share of the turkey. We all agreed that it was the least we could do for such a good Meowmy. And all of her hard work has paid off. She found out yesterday that in the past 5 weeks, she has lost 21 lbs!!! Yay Meowmy!!!! Yay!!! We couldn't be more excited for her, she deserves it.

She still has several days to go before her surgery on December 9th. We plan to spend as much time with her as possible supporting her and loving her as only we can. We may not be around much for the next couple of weeks but I'm sure you all will understand and excuse our absence. This is a major surgery and has risks involved with it but we are purring for a positive outcome. So if you have the time please come by and purr with us and wish our Meowmy the best, she needs all the encouragement she can get. Thanks for being such good friends to us all.

Getting Clicky With It

So the other day when Meowmy was outside investigating the bee hive she got inspired by all the colorful leaves. She started clicking that camera like crazy. Since she is a pretty good Meowmy most the time we said that she could share some of her favorites with you all here on our blog. Wasn't that generous of us? We're hoping by setting this example she will be generous with the treats. With the exception of the fire pictures and the last "colorful trees" one these were all taken in our very own yard. We think some of these are pretty good. Please enjoy!

Danger! Danger Will Robinson!

Yesterday Meowmy noticed something weird in our trees in the front yard so like any blogger with a camera she went out to snap some pictures. Until the weather got cold we had been bugged (mol sorry couldn't resist it) by a zillion bees, well now we know why and more importantly where they went.

See how close they are to our house? This is not good. These bees were really annoying. Meowmy couldn't go outside for more than 2 minutes before they would be crawling on her. Once she said that they even went between her toes! That freaked her out but she stayed still and did not get stung. Plus they stole our foods! Yeah, they would swarm all over it and try to fly off with crunchies. It wasn't too bad for me and Scotchy and Sugar cause we mostly eat in the house but poor Grayboy and Silver. They are the two feral kitties that eat on our back porch. We think Grayboy actually got stung in the mouth while eating. Something has to be done about this!

While Meowmy was out snapping pictures she saw something else that was much more dangerous. Predators! Do you see them? They are kinda tiny in these pictures but scary none the less. These big hawks like to fly in circular patterns and swoop down and get their lunch to go! They have been known to fly off with all kinds of small critters including cats!

There were only 3 in that first picture but the last one we counted 10! They start at one end of the neighborhood and slowly make there way to the other. Poor Sugar was out playing in the woods when they showed up. She saw Meowmy and started crying for help! Meowmy found her and escorted her up to the house so she would not become some mean old birds lunch. Good thing Meowmy showed up when she did.

There were so many cool toys he didn't know what to think!

The mouse became a quick favorite. It squeaks when you whap it around.

After playing with the mouse for a while we headed back to the bedroom for some more playtime.

The bird was pretty yummy.

But the fish was too interesting to pass up.

After a long evening of testing out all the toys he finally passed out and had nip colored dreams.

World Premiere

Hey efurrybody, we're movie stars! Yes, its true. Our Uncle Tod gave Meowmy a camera that makes videos! Wasn't that nice of him? He said that he had a new camera and didn't use his old one anymore so he just gave it to her! So now we get to star in our own movies. So far we just have one but we would like to share it with you. We'll wait right here while you go get some nip or popcorn or something. Dum...te dum dum....are you back? Ok great, lets start the show!

So what did you think? Pretty cool right? Meowmy said that she didn't like her voice and that she is still learning how to use the camera but all in all it wasn't half bad, especially since there was no script and it was filmed on our back porch on a windy day. We hope you enjoyed it, til next time!

Creepy Crawlies

So here I was last night minding my own business, my girl had been calling me and calling me to come in but I just wasn't ready to yet. She had come home from her weekend with Almost Dad and was wanting to snuggle with me but I was taking my time and making her wait. She should have figured that something was up cause I am normally waiting at her car door to escort her into the house when she gets home, I don't punish her for not being home, I'm happy she comes back.

Well she just couldn't wait (can you blame her?) so she scooped me up and took me to her room and let the loving commence. I got on her chest and got all scritched and scratched and pet and purred for a good 10 minutes and then it was off to the food bowl. When I jumped back up onto the bed I went to my corner and began my bath. About 5 licks into it I got up and turned my back on her, she just thought I was being discrete but I had a secret. And I left it for her on her blanket.

At first she didn't see it, she just thought it was a clump of fur but boy was she wrong. I had to focus all of my attention on it before she would investigate. My powers of mind control finally paid off cause she got off her duff and took a closer look. And guess what she found. A SLUG!! He he ha ha ha! Boy was she unhappy! Even after she removed the poor thing she still was looking all over for slimy things all night. I tried to spare her from it but she was just too impatient. I guess she got her Halloween trick a little early this year!

Nipped Out!

Oh man oh man! I scored some of the best catnip I've ever had this weekend. Its 100% pure organic and fresh as could be. Meowmy cracked it open and gave it a squeeze between her fingers to release the scent and I was off on a wild ride!

First I inhaled deeply filling my nostrils with the heavenly aroma of pure pleasure.
Then I took a little nibble out of my mouse's tail to cleanse my palate.
Next I licked individual pieces of it off the blanket and savored the taste.
By this time I was in my own little world. Man what a trip! Efurrything started to get all fuzzy and look weird. It was so cosmic! I think I even started to hallucinate.
I looked around for my Meowmy and here's what I saw instead!
Ha ha! She said she likes deviled eggs but she doesn't want to be one. That catnip sure was potent. But don't worry folks I use it responsibly, Meowmy helps me to ration it to just a pinch or two efurry once in a while. After I saw my Meowmy as an egg I was ready to sleep it off. I passed out for several hours and woke up refreshed and no hangover. It was a great night to be me.

Things That Go Bump In The Morning

I know I missed Tattletale Tuesday but this just happened and I HAD to share it.

This morning while my girl was in bed she rolled over to get more comfortable before going back to sleep. Well apparently this seemed like a good idea to stupid Stryder so he rolled over too. Only thing was that he was all snuggled up inside his favorite blanket and he didn't realize that he was on the edge of the bed.

First there was a loud thunk of claws trying to sink into mattress to hold him on. And then there was an even louder THUMP as he fell off anyway and bumped into the laundry hamper! He ran like a scardy cat straight to the door like someone was out to get him! Ha ha ha!

That's what you get for hogging my girl all to yourself at night. ::sticks out tongue::

She's crazy, that never happened. I don't know what she's talking about. Meowmy...did you tell Scotchy about my secret?

Guest Spot for Mancat Monday

This is CJ or Holmes as he is better known. He own's Almost Dad. He is 15 years old and still kickin! He recently was chased up a tree by a mean woofy and was stuck up there for hours cause it was too high to get down. He came down as low as he could but ended up falling and scaring efurryone. Although he was sore and a bit weary we are glad to report that he is perfectly fine!
When asked about his encounter with the mean old woofy he replied "no comment". But from the look on his face we could see that there was a lot he wanted to say about it! Back in his younger days he had a reputation for being a woofy smacker. He knocked a tooth right out of the mouth of one!
Holmes is a great mancat. He has been a best friend to Almost Dad since day one. They play games like soccer, guard dog and Can I Take Your Order or Talk into the Mike. This is where Almost Dad picks him up and holds him like a baby but then holds his back paw like a microphone at a fast food place. Because they are such good friends you can see that he doesn't want Almost Dad to leave for the weekend. He tried to pack himself in the bottom of the backpack twice before settling on top of the knapsack. It's hard to say goodbye to such a great mancat but he's always there to say hello when he comes back.

You guys are the best friends a cat could efur wish for. We have been feeling the love that all of you have been showing us since my last post. Many of you had great ideas for my meowmy on how she can make some extra green papers while things are tight. She is looking into all of them.
Most of them involved making some changes to our blog and doing some research on the innernets so she had to get the computer guys to come out and check our connection cause we have been having troubles in that department too. But now that it seems to be back to normal she says she can get started. We wanted to thank you all again, we never knew how many of you there were out there that cared about us and it has meant the world to us to find out. Purrrs to you all!

I Need A Job

Does anyone need some rodent control? Territory guarded? How about a dish licker or laundry sorter? Do you need a furry paperweight? How about a fill in for a round of THoE with your annoying sibling or a hissing partner? I need to make some green papers to help my family.

As some of you may know my meowmy was laid off from her job last October. Things have been pretty hard on us since then but we have had help from friends and family. The biggest help was that the very same day that she was laid off her boyfriend was offered a great job. It was his first job with steady pay and benefits. Well today, we found out that he was laid off too! He is signing his separation papers as we type. We are very sad about the whole thing, especially Meowmy.

So the only thing to do as the man cat of the house is to help out! If you have a job that only a man cat can do I'm available. I'm willing to do anything I can to make things better for my family, so don't hesitate to ask.

I tried to warn you Scotchy, you are too young to be out there with the big boys. When I told you not to come along on Meow Like a Pirate Day it was for your own good!

I told her to stay home and to be good but she wouldn't listen to me. She had to go off and have an adventure. Well, she must have over indulged on the Nip flavored rum cause efur since then she has just been laying around and not feeling good. I think she finally got it all out of her system last night cause she left 2 piles of yak on the floor in Sugar's room. (Sugar was furious! She refused to stay in there and slept outside all night.) She seems to be better now but she could have avoided all of this if she would have just listened to me!

It was so worth it!

We are all very sad to hear about sweet Pixie going to the Rainbow Bridge. She was a beautiful girl who had to deal with such a terrible illness but she did so with grace. We will think of her everytime we see a banana. Everyone eat one in her memory.
Not only am I sad about loosing another friend, I am still upset about the previous post. I am humiliated and still punishing Meowmy for this. I don't know how she will ever redeem herself for this one. Well, maybe a truckload of those new Party Mix treats would help.
Kellykat here...I just purchased 3 new bags of Party Mix in all the new flavors. I hope this will get me back in his good graces. I'm sorry Stryder, I will try to keep my makeover to myself from now on.

Cat Banter's Kimo & Sabi. We love hearing about their family, they are so sweet with their blurpy sister. Plus Meowmy loves their names.
Dr. Tweety and da others catz dat are part of da Fab Five! We know that their mommy has been really busy lately and hasn't been able to help them with their blog as much as they would like but we still love them and haven't forgotten about them.
Eric and Flynn. They are the first kitties from another country that we made friends with. We love hearing about their walks around the farm and their pictures are always good.
Team Tabby's Moe and Mindy. Meowmy loves how expressive their pictures are and Sugar likes to think that she and Mindy are soul sisters.

Gretchen. She was the first kitty to invite us to a party and use our picture we sent for the Garden Party even though Meowmy's photoshopping skills were severly lacking.
Tripper the Psyko Stray Cat from Life's A Trip!!! He always makes us laugh. We can't believe he thought he had MANBOOBS! Ha ha!

Monty Q - We have always loved his blog and after his recent absence we are thrilled to see him back in action.
Tybalt - We love his movie reviews! Plus he is a Georgia neighbor!
Aoise - She is a beautiful tuxie and a great friend. We love reading her comments!
Gizmo - Another wonderful tuxie. We like that she snores just like Scotchy does!
Kattonic Cats - They joined us on our first multi-household game of THoE. It was great fun and they taught us to watch out for speed bumps!
Mr. Hendrix - He has been a wonderful friend and supporter of our blog and we love both of his personalities.

Thursday Thirteen

We are sad that Texas had to go to the Rainbow Bridge but we know we will see him again one day.
Today I thought that I would take over the blog and tell you about things we are grateful for.

We are such lucky kitties to have a wonderful furever home. We know that not efurry kitty can say this. We have at least 3 feral kitties that come around to have dinner with us that do not have one. If they were a little more trusting of the humans they could become part of our family, as long as they remember that I am the Queen!
We are lucky to have Kellykat home with us so much. She may be sad about not having found a new day hunting place but we really like having her around for all the petting and love that she gives us.
Temptations. Gotta love that salmon flavor.
Stinky goodness. I'm very picky about what I like but stinky goodness is wonderful.
Grandma's bedroom. I get to sleep in there all by myself at night so that those other kitties don't disturb me. A girl needs her beauty sleep.
Grass. We love to roll around in it and have it scratch our itches.
Dirt is good too. If your feeling hot and sticky dirt will cool you down and help keep the buggies off of you. Plus it has some shiny stuff in it so its very fashionable.
I like the berries on the ground. I use them as makeup for my white furs. They make them all purple and purrty. The dirt also does this but makes it all orange cause its that Georgia clay stuff. I love colors!
Soft blankets. There is a furry soft green blanket on the couch that I get to lay on whenever I want. Its nice and squishy and I use my biscuit making skills to plump it up in all the right places.
Outside is a wonderful place. We all get to go outside whenever we want. Its good exercise to walk around the yard and chase flutterbies and crickets and stuff. I even know how to catch a mouse when I'm in the mood. They make great presents.
We are also grateful for the covered porch. When it rains out or gets too hot in the sun we can hang out on the porch and feel safe and protected. It also has good shade and you can see right in to the kitchen to see if your person is around to let you in.
Family is next on the list. If I didn't have family I would be purrty bored with no one to swat at or hiss at. Scotchy wouldn't have anyone to chase either and Stryder would know where all of his toys are and wouldn't be able to hunt for them. Boring like I said.
And finally we are grateful for all of our wonderful friends that we have met here on the blogosphere. Its been so much fun getting to know all of you. We look forward to reading about you all efurryday. Its the first thing Kellykat does in the morning, its become our bonding routine. Thank you all for entertaining us and supporting us. Your the best.

Me and my mom, Sugar, have been spending some time together. It's really nice cause usually she doesn't want anyone around. I asked Meowmy if it was ok if I went with her, she said yes of course. So here we go, off on our adventure together.
First we explored the front yard. It was kinda empty like a street in an old western movie. We pretended that it was high noon and had a stand off at the OK Corrall.
I was first to draw! Sugar just sat there and held her ground. The closer I got the more she tensed. When I was close enough she drew her claws and I narrowly dodged that bullet. Ok, game over. You win mom.
Then we played Follow the Leader. It was my turn to lead. We walked around in a circle and she checked out efurrything I did, just like she was supposed to. We walked all the way to the back yard.
After that she was kinda tired and decided that she'd had enough. She plopped down in the yard and just supervised me while I surveyed the yard. It was really nice to have some time together.

Hi! Scotchy here. Its my turn to play the Needs Meme. Here's what I came up with (with a little help from my girl). I found 13,500 results and here are my top 10.

some love too! Isn't that cool!?! The very first thing that appeared was my own blog! It comes from the bottom of the page for all of you who are using a reader thingy. My girl posted a kissing booth down there for all you handsome man cats and silly mommy's who want to show me some love. Go on, ya know you want to.
to know that I did the right thing. Who did the right thing? You? My girl? Well, I'll just have to trust that you did.
a little help now and then. This is so true. But all the wonderful beans and kitties in the Catblogosphere are always there to give a hand when we need it most. Thanks effuryone! You rock!
to do is run the zip line to the top. Zip line? I don't need no stinking zip line! When I climb up on top of the roof on the sun porch I just wait til my girl comes and gets me down. to think on it some more. Thinking is overrated. Like if I thought about attacking Stryder too long, I might not do it cause I know I will get in trouble, but then life would be sooo boring.
to spend the extra money. Do they mean green papers? I don't have any right now so there aren't any extra to spend. But if there were I'd buy some more party mix kitty treats and feather butt toys.
to settle down before she gets tasered. That doesn't sound too good! Ok, I'm settling! Back away from the kitty.

Well that was purrty fun. I'm glad it was my turn to play. I think Sugar is gonna play next. She needs to play, she is so uptight. Whenever I try to get her to play she just growls or whaps me on the head. Sheesh!

Happy NOMS Day!

Today we are celebrating NOMS Day. And in that spirit we would like to introduce to you some of Meowmy's favorite woofy friends. They live next door to her boyfriend and she gets to spend time with them on the weekends when she is not here with us. We are glad that she has some nice friends to keep her company when we can not be around.

This is Maze. He is a small woofy but he has all the attitude of a big one! Just look at him in this picture. He looks really tough and like you shouldn't mess with him but he really is just a softy. He always jumps up next to Meowmy and snuggles up next to her and wants his belly rubbed. He also is a very good singer. If you start him out on a song he will join in. His favorite is the theme to the old Batman show, but he changes it to BatDog! He can sing really soft or really loud, usually he starts out soft but gets really loud cause he gets excited to sing.

This is Foxy. She sure is a beautiful woofy. She is a big girl. She had an accident when she was furry little and was hit by a car. Since then she has problems with her hips and it makes it hard for her to get around sometimes. She has to take pain medications when it gets to be too much for her. But even though she has to deal with this she is still one of the happiest woofies that Meowmy has ever met. She is always smiling and she still likes to play. She likes to spend her days outside in the yard finding a nice cool spot since she has all that fur.

Maze and Foxy are great NOMS friends for Meowmy and we are furry happy to have had a chance to introduce them to you. We hope they will come back and be on our blog again sometime.

Salon Day

Some of you might of noticed that I didn't get to post yesterday. I wasn't very happy about it as you can see. Meowmy was gone all afternoon and all evening. I couldn't believe it! What could be so important that it had to interrupt my blogging schedule? She said that she had some things to do, errands and a birthday cookout at her boyfriend's house and also some self pampering. It seems that she spent the afternoon at the hair salon!
Can you believe that? I've got more furs than her and I don't go to the salon! Well I didn't think that this was fair so I let her hear about it. I mean if I'm not getting pampered no one else deserves to be pampered. She said that she needed to look nice for her job hunting. Why does she have to look nice while she's hunting? Well, to make it up to me she said that we could do a salon day at home for me! Don't tell Mr. Tigger about it though...he might wanna revoke my M-cat Club membership.

We started off with a full body petting/massage to get me all relaxed and purry. She's got good hands. Knows right were to scritch ya. I especially enjoy the arm pits and between the shoulder blades. Very nice. Then we moved on to the Furminator.

I enjoyed a little catalog shopping while she worked on my furs. They had the coolest shoes, just right for chewing on. On sale $22.95!
Once she was done with the brushing and petting I gave myself the once over. Looks like she missed a spot on my leg, I had to slick it down in place.
After all my pampering was done I had to check out the final product. I took a look in the mirror. She did a good job. Don't I look handsome?
I enjoyed my salon day so much that I told Meowmy that this should become a regular appointment. She agreed as long as I keep tipping her with headbutts and sweet snuggles. I think I can afford that.
